Q.  My dog has a bad ear infection and I just know it hurts.  I don't want to pay too much for a vet visit etc., because I know what it is, she gets them all the time.  I am out of medicine and can't get any for about 4 days.  Is there any home remedy I can use until then?

A.  You need to understand that no prescription medicine can be dispensed without an exam. This is the law. You do not know if your dog has a foreign object such as a sticker or other seed in the ear canal. This cannot be determined without an exam. It would be foolish to flush the ear canal without looking inside first or you might drive the foreign object through the ear drum into the middle ear and have a real problem
